About

I'm a final year student journalist at Leeds Beckett University, on track to graduate with a first-class honours degree. I'm passionate about sports journalism, particularly football, and I've spent my training years honing my writing, interviewing, and editing skills to prepare for the world of journalism.

I've produced work for several publications, such as Stockport Nub News, West Leeds Dispatch, and the Bury Times, where I have covered vastly different themes, like local news, political pieces, and sports coverage. I'm currently working on an in-depth feature piece on survival in non-league football, suited to print publication, which is due in May. Additionally, I've also published work across my university's news site, Leeds Now, and I've collaborated in the creation of a food magazine titled Onion, which greatly boosted my editorial and team-working attributes.

As a press officer at my local semi-professional football club, I oversee the publication of the match programme for every home fixture, as well as running the X page, where I post match announcements, live reports, and any other relevant content. The match reports I produce are printed in both the programme and on a local news site, which has given me invaluable experience and added to my interest and skillset in sports journalism.

In the next few years, I hope to move into a full-time role in journalism, either in general news or sport. I look forward to using my training and hands-on experience in a real-world scenario to add to the world of print media.
